No landing pad on derelict freighter. I've discovered three of these so far. My first was before I knew what practically anything was and had less than 100,000 units and zero resources. So I couldn't do anything but I did land on it. Now, however, I've come across two more while pulsing and neither have landing pads.

Then just remove it from the refiner anytime later to be used again. The derelict freighter is a new type. It doesn't look like our trusty flying garages, nor does it look like a crashed freighter (or the wrecked freighter in space, either). It's more like a big frigate (a cruiser type class, perhaps?).
